Christening photography in London
A special family occasion
Christenings, baptisms and other religious ceremonies are very important moments in a family life. It is a rare occasion to bring your family and friends together, whether you choose a small intimate ceremony or a bigger event including a celebratory party. Having a photographer during your London christening will relieve you from the stress of taking photos yourself; it will instead allow you to enjoy the event, hold your child stress-free during the ceremony and spend time with your guests after the christening.
My photography approach
My speciality is family photography, which means that I am used to work around children, babies and families in general and I will use my expertise and skills to ensure your photographs truly reflect your baby's christening. My event photography style is natural and relaxed and I will capture the spirit of the day in a discreet way.
I understand that each church has its own christening traditions so whether your baby is having a Catholic, Anglican or Greek Orthodox christening or a Brit Milah, I will respect the ceremony's customs.
How it works?
Prior to the day of the christening , we will have a chat so I can get an idea of what the ceremony means to you, who will attend, when and where. We will talk about what are the most important photos for you so I make sure I photograph them during the event.
On the day, I can meet you in your home while you are getting ready. This should be the occasion for lovely pictures of your baby (or older child) getting dressed all smartly. This can be the opportunity for a few formal photos of your close family. If there are other children, this will be a calmer time for photos than during the party later.
The ceremony
At the church, before the christening/religious ceremony begins, I always try to speak to the priest and check with him/her the programme, where the events will take place so I can be in the best spot during the ceremony, without disturbing.
I will focus my photos on your child, yourselves and your close relatives.
At the end of the baptism ceremony, I will photograph the hugs and smiles that will make you remember this day with warmth forever.
The party
After the ceremony, if you have decided to organise a party, I will join you with my camera and I will make sure I capture the atmosphere of the event, your guests chatting, the children playing and any entertainment you may have organised. A christening or baptism is often a rare occasion to have so many of your loved ones and close friends in one room so you want to have a memory of this very special day and that’s how I can help you so you don’t miss those moments.
These are the words from one of my clients about my christening photography:
If if it’s important for you to keep a powerful memory of this special family event, you will find information about the prices of my christening photography offer and the gorgeous products that you can choose (digital images or physical products such as fine-art albums, frames and prints) on my Info page.
I will capture the small details of the party: the presents, the decorations and the cake. Lots of families have a special cake made for the occasion so I make sure I photograph it before it’s all gone!
Whether you are planning a christening, baptism (christian, greek orthodox) or a naming ceremony for your child, I’d love to tell the story of this special event as your christening photographer. You can find information on my christening photography prices on this page.
